The WisdomForce FastReader provides Database Administrators, Developers and QA with ability to make a quick snapshot of data from a database. According to the vendor, FastReader can unload large Oracle tables (terabytes of data) into flat text files with no system overhead. At the same time, FastReader automatically prepares input for high-speed loaders like Oracle SQL*Loader and other database vendors.

FastReader works on major databases, including Oracle, DB2, MSSQL, and MySQL. It supports most operating systems and platforms: Sun Solaris, HPUX, Windows, Linux and more. Sample uses for FastReader include creating or updating test environments, initial data synchronization before starting replication, and creating backups for Network Attached Storage (NAS) large tables without having to rely on the DB's native export/import functions.
